The Opportunity
This Librarian role offers an opportunity to play a vital part in delivering inclusive, high quality library services that support learning, literacy and community connection. The position provides the chance to work across a diverse range of activities including customer services, programming, digital services and collection development, while contributing to the library's role as a welcoming community hub. The role is well suited to a motivated professional who enjoys collaboration, values public services and is keen to make a positive impact with a Local Government environment.
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a qualified and community-focused Librarian who holds a Diploma of Library and Information Services (or an ALIA recognised qualification), along with a current driver's licence and Working with Children Check. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong computer literacy and experience with library technologies, digital services and minor IT troubleshooting, as well as ability to support staff and volunteers in a team environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a proactive approach to developing and promoting programs and services, and ability to create engaging promotional material across print and digital platforms are essential Experience in Local Government and First Aid certificate will be well regarded.
