We're seeking a hands-on Site Leader Green Spaces to coordinate day-to-day operations across our parks, gardens, sports fields and natural areas while supporting a positive, safety-focused team culture.

About the Role

This is a varied and rewarding leadership position that combines practical outdoor work with team supervision and project coordination.

You'll play a key role in maintaining and enhancing Council's parks, reserves, sports fields, gardens, beaches and natural areas, ensuring they remain safe, attractive and enjoyable for residents and visitors alike.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and supporting a small operational team
  • Maintaining parks, gardens, sporting facilities and natural areas
  • Managing turf, vegetation and environmental weed programs
  • Operating and maintaining plant, machinery and equipment
  • Coordinating mowing, pruning, landscaping and maintenance activities
  • Delivering minor infrastructure and improvement projects
  • Promoting safe work practices and ensuring WHS compliance
  • Completing inspections, records and maintenance reporting
  • Providing high-quality customer service and community outcomes

About You

You are a practical and motivated leader who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in delivering quality outcomes.

You'll bring:

  • Certificate IV in Horticulture (or equivalent), or the willingness and ability to obtain it within two years with Council support
  • Experience in horticulture, turf management, natural area management or related fields
  • Demonstrated experience leading, supervising and motivating teams
  • Strong knowledge of safe work practices and risk management
  • High levels of physical fitness and a willingness to work outdoors
  • Current Driver Licence
  • White Card (WHS Construction Induction)
  • Experience operating small plant and equipment
  • Confidence using mobile devices or tablets to record and manage work activities
  • A collaborative approach and commitment to teamwork
